Law & Ethics Interview
He uiuinga mō te ture me ngā matatika
As part of registration, we interview applicants on their knowledge of the law and ethics of New Zealand pharmacy.

The Law and Ethics interview may be a requirement set for you to complete if you are a pharmacist returning to practise or an overseas pharmacist from a specified country.

The interview takes place after completing a period of supervised practice. It’s usually the final step in the registration or return to practice process before you can practise independently (without supervision/conditions).

The interview is arranged by the Pharmacy Council and conducted by an experienced pharmacist registered and practising in New Zealand. It’s used to help demonstrate that you can apply legal, ethical, cultural, and practical knowledge to pharmacy practice in NZ, communicate clearly and effectively in English and demonstrate professionalism in your approach to practice in NZ.

This requirement applies to some pharmacists returning to practise in New Zealand and all overseas pharmacists from AustraliaCanada, Ireland, United Kingdom and United States (the REQR pathway).

A full preparation guide and reference material list is provided to you when the requirement is set/application approved. This helps you and your supervising pharmacist to know what to expect and how to prepare.
